Full Time Gardener

Camphill School Aberdeen now have an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Gardener to join their team.  Camphill School Aberdeen work to create communities in which vulnerable children and adults, many with learning disabilities, can live, learn and work with others in healthy social relationships based on mutual care and respect.
As a Gardener, you will be required to take over the day to day running of our walled gardens on our Murtle Estate.
This role involves working with young people with additional support needs, and the successful candidate will work with the wider CSA community to provide meaningful opportunities and workplace activities. The Gardener will care for all aspects of the walled garden as well as working directly with young people, based on Murtle Estate, Bieldside, Aberdeen.
Experience in vegetable growing, soft fruit, top fruit and salad crops would be required. The ability to work directly with young people with additional support needs is a requirement, however full training and support will be available to the right person. Further opportunities are available to be involved in a variety of support roles, group activities.
This is a young organic garden which would lend itself to someone who has a passion to develop and strengthen the garden.

Waking Night Attendant required for young male adult
(This post is only open to male applicants as an occupational requirement under The Equality Act 2010)

Camphill School Aberdeen works to create a community in which vulnerable children and adults, many with learning disabilities, can live, learn and work with others in healthy social relationships based on mutual care and respect.

The successful applicant will provide waking night awareness in a house for a young male adult. It is essential that the successful applicant is able to support and work with a young adult with epilepsy and be able to manage challenging behaviour arising from specified additional support needs.

As part of the house team, you will work towards ensuring a high level of compliance with Health & Safety and CSA rules, policies and practices.

This position will be subject to a PVG Membership check.

Speech and Language Therapist

Camphill School Aberdeen is an independent charity offering education, care and therapy services for children and young people with additional support needs on a day and residential basis.
We are looking for a suitably qualified Speech and Language Therapist to support children and young people with a variety of communication needs.
You will have the relevant skills, knowledge and experience in working with children and young people and a sound understanding of how to support young people with additional support needs.
You will be required to:
• Independently manage a caseload of young people, with complex needs, presenting difficulties with speech, language and communication, using evidence-based principles to plan and implement effective assessments and treatment programs
• To demonstrate excellent skills in motivating and engaging children in the therapy process whilst working towards their therapeutic goals
• Work closely with other therapists and school staff to promote the role of speech and language therapy
Applicants will be expected to have a relevant speech and language qualification, salary will be based on experience in relation to the professional salary bands.
You will have an enthusiastic and motivational approach to the role with a fundamental understanding and respect for special needs children. This post will be term time with working hours of 35 per week.
